House & Home started as a furniture division of the main store of the company OK Hyperama in the year of 1977. The company OK Hyperama opened its first store in that year, which was situated in Edenvale, Johannesburg. Two years later, the company opened more stores in Prospecton, Menlyn and Roodepoort. That year the name was changed into The Hyperama. The famous also nowadays green logo was also created back then. During the years the company grew and developed itself.
