Boxer Superstores opened in April, 1977 as KwaZulu Cash n Carry in the KwaZulu-Natal region of South Africa. As a business with humble beginning, Boxer Superstores began operations by solely trading in maize, beans, sugar, rice, samp, and oil in wholesales capacity until it reinvented into standard retail of consumers and service retailers.
The years that followed saw Boxer Superstore flourish to becoming South Africa’s favorite chain store offering quality food items and home supplies at market competitive prices. Most notably was the 1995 expansion to regions outside KwaZulu-Natal, as well as the incorporation of other divisions such as Boxer Meats, Boxer Punch, Boxer Build, and Boxer Liquor.
